Gerani is a small seaside settlement located between the coastal resorts of Maleme to the West and Platanias to the east. Although small, it is a place packed with all sorts of amenities, a popular tourist destination brimming with life during the warm months of the year. Lots of hotels and all sorts of tourist accommodations, taverns, bars, and restaurants can be found in arm’s reach, while the summer superstar resorts of Falassarna and Balos are half an hour drive away. The city of Chania and the old Venetian port are also half an hour away to the east. The sandy beach that covers the whole length of its north side stretches both east and west for many kilometers. Great patches of that stretch are still undiscovered by the swarms of tourists that flock every year to enjoy the sea and sun of Crete.
